MINI GOLF

Last night Corey, Vanessa and I went to Sportsworld to go mini golfing. They had a good deal, every Tuesday in May it only cost $2.00. I think everyone had a good time. Corey won and I came in last. When we were done we went over to McDonald's for a Sundae. We went to Vanessa's and saw her dog.

TOBERMORY

This past weekend Corey and Iwent camping with his Uncle Ron at Cyprus Lake in Tobermory. Corey and I left after work and it took us just over 3 hours to get there. We arrived around 8:00 and set up our tent and got a fire going. Ron and Aaron arrived around 10:30 as they had a 6 hour drive from Windsor. They left the other's behind Cliff (Mike) was late, his flight from his last vacation arrived late. So Cliff, Ed and Paul didn't arrive to camp until around 12:30. The first night we just enjoyed the campfire and then went to bed. Saturday morning we had to register that we were there. The lady that was checking us in wasn't overly friendly. She told us that we had to make sure that we keep our sites clean as this is bear country. We already knew this. Uncle Ron told me that Aunt Lori might come up to camp with us for the Sunday to Monday. We didn't want to get my hopes up as this was only a possibility. We drove into Tobermory as this was the first time to this city for some of the group. We had breakfast at the Crow's Nest, then went and looked around at some of the little shops. When we got back to Cyprus Lake we had lunch, cold meat sandwiches. After we cleaned up we went for a nice hike. Apon our arrive back at the sites we started getting ready for supper. We had steaks done over the open fire. They were really good. When it got dark we went out to Horse Lake, Paul had brought his electonic telescope. All he had to do was type in what he wanted to look at and it would move right to that position. We saw Saturn, Mars, a double star and a large star cluster. Corey and I left early as we were getting cold and tired. When we got back we started the fire again, and I got Harvey out of the tent. I noticed that Harvey's dog food was dumped on the ground and I didn't think that Harvey would do that. I quickly cleaned it up as we still needed that food for Harvey and I didn't want him to eat it all. When the other's arrived back someone wanted to roast marshmellows. They couldn't find them. We ended up finding them draged off into the trees. We had visitors to our site, Raccoons! I guess we were just lucky that it wasn't a bear! Eventually everyone got tired and went to bed. Sunday Morning when we woke up and went over to the other site for breakfast they told us that it was going to rain, (we had a little battery powered radio, that they listened to the weather) as we were standing there thinking about the weather I felt a drop on my arm, then a few minutes later I felt another. I asked them if they had a shelter that we could put up if it was going to rain. They didn't do it right away and I told them that they were denying the truth. Sure enough it started to rain. We ate eggs in a bag under the shelter. We couldn't decide what to do with our time, we sat for awhile and watched a chipmunk come and look for food, this drove Harvey nuts! We also saw a Blue Jay. We decided that we would go back into town to the Sweet Shop. When we were done there it did stop raining, but we weren't sure that we wanted to go on a hike as the rocks would be really wet and we didn't want to fall into the cold water of the Georgian Bay. So I suggested that we could go to Singing Sands. It was pretty windy and cold but shortly it cleared up. So we walked out to the end of the sand, as we stood there you could tell that the water was coming in. Uncle Ron, Ed, Aaron and Cliff went out to this sand bar and I started to follow. Paul, Corey and Harvey started back. As I was heading out to them I was having to walk on my tip toes so that the water wouldn't come into my shoes. I headed back with Paul and Corey. It ended up that the sand bar that the other's were on got covered in water as they were standing there and they decided that they would just run back to "shore". When they reached us their shoes were soaked and they had mud all up the back of them! They we went on the hiking trail. When we got back to our campsite we had peanut butter and jam sandwiches. We started the fire so that we would have good coals to cook the beef roast on. Aunt Lori arrived around 5:30, she said that if she was able to leave Windsor before 10:00 she was going to come. She left at 9:45. We had to eat our supper in stages as the meat was not done when the rest of the food was. I wanted to go and watch the sun set but when we go down to the water it had already set. When it got dark all the other's went to go look through the telescope again, but Corey and I stayed back and enjoyed the fire. I guess they ended up seeing a snake in the water and Lori doesn't like snakes at all so they came back and sat around the fire with us. I went into the tent to get something and when I was standing back looking at the fire I head something rustiling the garbage when I shone the flashlight it was a Raccoon! It had come back looking for more. Funny thing was it returned again and was standing on the picnic table, the nerve! The rest of the evening was spent around the fire. Sunday morning we packed up at had muffins for breakfast. Ron also showed us how to cook an egg on a stick over the fire. When the fire went out we went back into town and had our picutre taken by the Tobermory sign. We got home around 2:00. We had a really good time and I can't wait to go camping again.

SERVES YOU RIGHT

So, today Corey and I were out shopping at Candian Tire, at Fischer-Hallman and Ottawa. When we were leaving the parking lot some guy squeezed his car infront of us as he was coming from the gas station area. As we were waiting at the stop sign to turn onto Ottawa St. he scooted infront of a car just to be one car farther ahead. We wondered where he was going in such a hurry. When we were driving down Ottawa St. to pull into the Williamsburg plaza we saw the same car. At first I thought that he might be stopped waiting for the light to turn. When we pulled past we saw that he had hit a Minivan! They were standing outside of the vechicles exchanging information. I guess that just goes to show you that if you drive crazy, crazy things are going to happen. It never pays to be in a hurry as you will either get stopped by the cops or get in an accident.

MOTHER's DAY

Here we are at yet another Mother's Day, a day where we all get this warm fuzzy feeling about how wonderful our Mother's are and think of the pain they went through for 9 months then ended in a termedous amount of pain. So what did you do nice for your Mother today? Did you do breakfast in bed, give her flowers, a card or a hug? Well, I didn't do to much. Corey and I and my Dad went out to Swiss Chalet for lunch and guess what they gave my Mother a nice red rose. They also gave me one even though I am not a Mother yet! I told my Mom to take them both but she smiled and told me to take one. I hope she knows that she is a very special Mom.

FOSSIL WATCH

Two weekends ago my friend Vanessa and I went to Square One to go shopping for the day. I'm sure Corey was happy as he didn't have to go shopping with me. I had one goal in mind to buy a new wrist watch. I was having problems with my old one, when I would adjust my purse or do certain things my watch band would pop open, it was driving me nuts. It took me along time to find one as there wasn't anything else wrong and I still liked it. Vanessa was very paitent with me as we looked in every store that sold watches. I finally decided that I would buy a Fossil watch and had narrowed it down to 3 watches. When I finally decided on the one that I liked I turned over the price tag and looked at it. It cost $120.00 I thought it was a little expensive but since it was the only one that I liked I decided that I would still get it. When the girl rung it in at the register it came up for only $70.00! That was a nice surprise, it had been on sale previously and they forgot to send these ones back! That made my day!! Then the strangest thing happened. I hadn't been wearing my watch so I put it back on and it wouldn't stay closed at all! It was like it knew that it had been replaced and had given up. So then I was really happy that I had a new watch.
